hmmm. GMHG are July 10-12 - more like 7 weeks. I'll be camping starting 7/8. I'll fly the XMTS tartan for any who care to approach and be recognized.

Looks like Turp beat me to it.
Jamais, better look at your calendar! I'd hate for you to be lonely up there. Especially with the cost of petrol.

Man that scared me at First. Going to our first Grandfather Mountain and thought we booked in July by mistake. All I need now is to get the family tartan made and shipped in time. Any recommendations on a maker, that might have the MacInnes Modern tartan and can get it out fast.

good luck on that. I'd try contacting Rocky at USA Kilts and seeing if you can pay for a rush job. Also try Barb T here - she's usually running 7-8 weeks. Also Chattan Cat, if he can order the tartan.

Yeah Baby!!!!!!!!! ![Cheers!](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_beer.gif)
Let's get all the talk going on the Grandfather Mountain weekend!!!
Hank Hannah... there are NO EXCUSES this year my old friend. You MUST be there, or we'll send the tour bus to kidnap your pleated **** and drag you out to Linville.
Gas Prices... Shmash Prices. If you're only going to do one trip this summer why not hit the home of Andy, Barnie and Opie? While you're at it, bring along a little "sumpin-sumpin" for Otis Campbell?!![Very Happy](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)
Look, there are some fantastic bands performing this year and some top-notch events happening. If you haven't been to this thing, you're REALLY missing-out on the whole kilts/Scots/drinking/eating/dancing/partying world.
Picture this all in the backdrop of the Carolina Hills.
Let's get the XMarks faithful to this thing this year. No more hollow promises. No more "I wanted to go". Just friggin' do it this time.
Who knows... gas could be $10 a gallon next year. You really want to be stuck in your hometown with only the ability to see the American Idol Tour?
Grab your pleats and hit the streets!!!!!!!!
Arise. Kill. Eat.

If you like to camp, this is the great camping games experience. Don't forget the marshmallows - not to roast but as ammo in the attack on the MacRowdy side. And bring the bongos or bodhran for the nightly drumming circle.

OK, I'll take up that challenge. I wasn't going to go to G'Father this year, but if the infamous, legendary, and o-so-elusive Jimmy Carbomb will be there I'm going to be there, too. It'll be almost as good as getting your picture made with Elvis. Maybe better.

We just need to discuss a couple of meeting places and times. I missed them last year. Kids in tow.
