You are doing well to go armed ! I also smell an ambush.
OH sure she may well be an opportunist and be just changing her mind to fit the times.... But remember to be forewarned is to be forearmed!
We have had plenty of those on our side also, so we can't really throw stones...

I think she had an attitude adjustment as opposed to a change in attitude.

Well I'm thinking her attitude adjustment came from a chat with her husband for taking it upon herself to make that sort of decision. However, good luck with her and make us proud of the educating of the fine kilt. Oh and Cheers for being a bad influence. "P

I am so glad that I could help in your presentation (HBC kilt). Give it to her...er, um, I mean let her know the ins and outs ... er, um, ... dang it is the kilt making me stammer.

Certainly you have figured out your friend's wife's real problem with him wearing the kilt.

Discuss the unspoken fears first and the rest will go easy.
Looking forward to pictures of the three of you together at the next Tartan Ball.

I can only wonder if she planned on wearing pants to the event herself.
Maybe you can toss in the parallels between women's efforts to have pants accepted with our current efforts for wider kilt acceptance.
And sir, you are not just a warrior, you are also a diplomat.

Oohrah! Get some!
Whatever the cause of her change in attitude, it sounds like a great opportunity to really change someones mind. Getting them to listen is the hard part, you've already got that part beat.

James,
Great story and good luck at your appointment. Perhaps taking along info for the San Diego Games, which are coming soon (end of June 28 & 29 seems soon to me), and they are going to be just around the corner from you in Vista.
Heck, I'm coming home from Yosemite on the 27th, so I can go to the games on the 28th! They'll be my first games to visit and I'll be doing it kilted!!!
Carry on,
