Kansas City Highland Games - June 13 to 15

Alright you midwest kiltie boys... there's a gathering in the middle of June in Kansas City for their Scottish Highland Games.

On Friday, there will be a demonstration of the athletic events which will include me and the folks from KMBC TV-9 in a caber toss. Stick around on Friday night to see KC's own "The Elders".

Saturday night, the band will be some group from Philadelphia called "Barleyjuice". I hear that they sing about kilts and drinking.int:

Bring the kilts... bring the single malts... bring the women... bring-on one great weekend!

I'll be there for sure. I have recently been introduced to the Elders music and I like it! I will be there Saturday too.

I've already got Saturday on the calendar! I may see if I can take a vacation day on Friday.

Barleyjuice ROCKS, great music to sing along with and throw a couple down. They had good beer at the precursor event, we never even had to pay, and we almost sprouted roots. int: :beer:

For those who will be there on Friday, PLEASE make sure to attend the demonstration of the Highland Games! From what I hear, it should be "one for the books". Hell... if I AM throwing the caber... anything goes!

As for the beer that they "may" serve at the event, it had BETTER be top notch. Homie don't chuck telephone poles for nothing!!!
