Nightwish kilted
Hey there, rabble!
I know there are a few Nightwish fans here, so I thought I would post this little story. I went to see Nightwish last night (WICKED show!!) and ran into not one or two, but three kilties! I was heading to Will Call and saw a group of guys in Utilikilts. Needless to say, I came up behind them and said "What's with the skirts?!?!" i was of course kilted myself. They got a laugh out of that. I ran into one of them by the ladies room- my lady needed to go potty so I was standing there looking creepy- and started a chat. I told him about X Marks, so we may have a new Colorado kiltie or two joining the ranks.
And I think the most amusing part was right before we got in. The security lady patting me down had no idea how to go about frisking a guy in a trad kilt, so she just asked me if I had anything with pockets on under it, and then very quickly said "Wait- never mind. I don't want to know. If you're sneaking things in under there, then you're welcome to." When she was frisking my wife I heard her say "Your husband is hot!"
So there we are- my latest kilted concert. I was wearing my SWK saffron by the by.

Sounds like fun. I dont know that Nightwish has done any shows near new england in a long while. Did they play mostly new stuff from dark passion play, or did they mix in a good bit of older stuff too?

So how was the new lead singer. I really liked Tarja Turunen voice. I haven't heard the new stuff with the new singer yet. Wish I could have been there

Would have gotten her nowhere either. I was going to tell her that I was trying to smuggle in the Loch Ness monster.
So to answer an earlier question, they played:
Poet and The Pendulum, Bye Bye Beautiful, Amaranth, SAHARA!! (my neck still hurts from that one!), Whoever Brings The Night, The Islander, and 7 Days To The Wolves off of Dark Passion Play. They played Gethsemane, Dark Chest of Wonders, The Siren, Nemo and Wish I Had An Angel, and Wishmaster. The only album not represented in the set was Century Child, which was my only dissapointment, since that's my favorite album.
So as to how Anette sounded- she sounded awesome! She has a beautiful voice and is much more personable and spontaneous with the audience than Tarja was. She's much better at working the audience. On the other hand, she doesn't have the seductive qualities to her voice that Tarja does, so Wishmaster didn't sound right.
So there you are! My brief review.
