Wore my USA Kilts US Army tartan semi-trad after the Memorial day service I was a member of (firing party). Only a minor comment from a couple of ladies who couldn't recognize the tartan.

As for the male gender asking, there are times when I get too many guys asking. I have to look at them with a kind of sideways glance and inquire as to why they are so curious. When they stop to think what they are asking, they shut up.

Then once they get drunk, I've had them grab the back of my kilt. They almost got laid out right then and there...
