The photo Daniel posted is (from l to r), Bob Martin, Al Bullman, and Mark Harden, Baron of Cowdenknowes.
Mark is well versed in heraldry and will be speaking (with Romilly Squire) on Scottish heraldry at this year's Taste of Scotland Festival (June 14).

I have a laird's plaid, in MacIntyre Hunting Modern, but I forget to wear it in the winter months. I bought it off the widow of Edgar MacIntyre, the fellow who posed for the Dewar's Drum Major. Now, he's not wearing a laird's plaid in this pic.

Thank you gentlemen. From the info you have provided, I will have a "Laird plaid". It also seems that it is going to be a VERY versatile garment, that can be adapted to various styles of wear.
I should be getting it from Jerry (SWK ) in a few days. & I look forward to experimenting.
BTW, I will be wearing it @ an event next weekend. Hope to have pics

I guess my memory is pretty good then. Just couldn't remember all their names.

Matt, do you think your "half belted plaid" could be/would look good worn like a lairds plaid? I as because I am intewrested in having one made for me at some point and like the idea of having the option to wear it in several ways.

I recently finished perling a fly plaid (36" x 48").
Does size really matter?

Reived! But, it seems a ghillie is necessary.
Yeah; I know of no way to get into one by yourself.
