 from Chicago and from an 8th generation Scot - that's 2 Gordon 5th Great-grandfathers who emigrated in 1738, a McIver 5th Great-grandfather who emigrated after 1745, and Alexander (MacAllister) 8th Great-Grandparents who emigrated in the mid-17th century.
