    WWI uniform

I was wondering if, since there's a lot of history buffs on the boards, some of you guys could help me out here? I'm trying to get an idea of what would go into a WWI (maybe even an early WWII) Gordon Highlander's uniform. Does anybody have any ideas? Pictures would be great! I already found these.

    WW1 uniform

No picture of the man himself,my grand father, but a picture that I have just taken of some of his personal effects that he wore in the trenches during WW1. He was commissioned into the G H in, I think 1912.Silver G H(hallmarked 1913) kilt pin made by Hamilton and Inches of Edinburgh, silver cuff links made by H&I,silver collar stays dated 1918 made by H&I, gold watch(Rolex)and chain and a marching compass.I use them all today, but I do not wear a G H tartan as I did not serve in that regiment.

Try the Gordon Highlander museum: http://www.gordonhighlanders.com
They might be able to help you with any questions you might have or even might be able to send you a few pics.
Good luck with your project it sounds fun!

Check wi' your college library and/or local purveyor of books for:

The Scottish Units in the World Wars by Mike Chappell:

There a number of good period photos from the World Wars of Scottish regiments, including the Gordons.

"What Price Glory" has an officer's tunic you can get with Gordon buttons. They also have WWI type kilt aprons, hose, tam o' shanters, etc....
