Kiltmaker recommendations?
I'm new to the site and am interested in suggestions for kiltmakers. I'm looking to "take the leap" of buying a kilt and want to make sure I get the most for my money. Thanks!

from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. To know what kiltmaker you should go with perhaps you will let us know where you live, if in North America there are some really good makers and if you are in Europe or the UK there are some excellent makers as well. With the duties on Wool you may be best going for a local maker.

Hello and a warm from Boston, Massachusetts.
Is the tx at the end of your handle for the Great State of Texas? I suggest you check out the advertisers on this board. If this is to be your first kilt, I recommend looking at our advertisers. For speed and low price, nothing beats Jerry of Stillwater Kilts. The Standard is an acrylic kilt that can be on your doorstep at the click of the "submit" button. The better kilt IMHO is the Semi-Traditional from Rocky and Kelley at USA Kilts, it is Poly Viscose and takes just a little bit longer, but is custom tailored to your measurements in supurb quality of the kilt and customer service. Also this kilt wears extremely well.
If you are going for the full traditional 100% Wool tartan kilt, there are several kiltmakers on this forum. Barb Tewksbury, Kathy Lare, Matt Newsome, who do an outstanding job with the full deal in a hand tailored made to measure kilt in your chosen tartan. Please check out all the forums here for the option that is ideal for you.
Welcome to ye Rabble, and when you get the kilt, post pictures here.
