That is a great looking kilt, and an awesome gesture from Barb.

Its great to look through here and read such great words and story, then see such great work (kilt).
And Kid, when you serve, you serve. 4 years or 40, we do our time for God and country!!

It looks great. I've never seen anybody in a box-pleated kilt, other than my own (that I lent and never got back).

Cool story and Barb is a real mensch. Did you actually say, "What ho!"?

I did! And sometimes I say "methinks," too. It's probably a bit precious, but I've been doing it long enough that it's become part of my shtick.

Four years of good and faithful service---that's what I signed up for, that's what I gave. The very last day of active duty, I "somehow" managed to "get caught" by Colors as I was on my way to check out with the SgtMaj.
To quote Dickens, it was the best of times, it was the worst of times. Some of it was small and petty and mean, and some of it was grand and heroic. I just wanted to make sure that everyone understood that, for me, the "grand and heroic" parts was road marches through Camp Lejeune, and doing PM work on gear.

That's a wonderful gesture, Barb. As a crazy Vet myself, thanks.
