Guess they must have had my size, cause i just got an email saying they had handed it off to UPS. Talk about fast service! Wonder how long it takes to get stuff here from Scotland? Woohoo! My first kilt from Scotland! Even if it is off the rack it should be pretty neat. And i've wanted a IOS every since i saw that tartan here. Geesh, double jones now...got one being made by Kathy, and now this one. Think i'll go play golf so i don't have to think about it. Hehe.

They sent it via UPS??? I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but that might mean that you are going to be stuck with having to pay duty. UPS and Fedex are notorious for holding up delivery of items for payment of duties and fees. Several posters have recommended that one insist that the packages be sent via Royal Mail, which often misses that point.

On their behalf, one of the vendors here does point out that shipping the item this way allows tracking, which regular mail does not.

Please let us know how this works out for you! I had planned on ordering one myself, but had to put it off for a bit.

Ya i know. And Wollen Mill does now offer the option to ship Royal mail right on the site. I'm in the "industry" so to speak, so shouldnt get taken by duties as i can simply call the port of entry and have contacts there. I'm hoping since i have contacts with Border and customs, and UPS is faster i will avoid any problems. Wish me luck..lol

Just an update on the shipping status. I shipped this UPS as a sort of experiment, as UPS and DHL are now flying each others freight, and i wanted to see how this package did since i can track it internally through the DHL system. It just cleared KY after being sent yesterday, so no problem with customs, and things seem to be moving at lightning speed. Not bad for a kilt from Scotland, even off the rack. I'll keep ya posted to see how long it actually takes to hit my front door.

No kidding. They must have had one sitting there all packed up waiting for me to order it. LOL. So far no problem with customs, it's already been scanned out for delivery, so it's probally in transit as we speak. If this arrives tomorrow i'm gonna have a cow. 2 days from scotland cannot be real. Maybe they got a hold of Jerry's time machine?
