    attention all Norman Maclean fans...

For those of you who love A River Runs Through It and the Scottish Presbyterian family of its author, Norman Maclean, here are a couple of sites to peruse:

    http://www.fpcmissoula.org/am/publish/history.php

**The first Presbyterian Church of Missoula, Montana, where Norman's father, the Rev. John Maclean DD, served as pastor. What a great picture!

    http://johnmacleanbooks.com/

**Norman's son, John N. Maclean, is also a noted writer -- I love how the Maclean tartan is used as the web site background, a fitting tribute to the Maclean family.

    Arlen, pay close attention now...

    Haunted by the waters,

    Todd

Todd, is that you in the photo? What's that tiny little thing in your hand?

That can't be a fishing rod because the last fishing rod that I saw was eight and a half foot long and had a blue wing olive at the end of the line.

Just kidding as I've been known to bring the ultra light spinning stuff along from time to time. Is that a shot of you down in your neck-o-the-woods? An old architectural historian of my acquaintance has regaled me with many tales of excellent fly fishing in the Great State of Missouri...I always wanted to find out if he was on the level about it.

Yes, It's a Shakespeare. <sigh> I'm still very much a novice when it comes to fishing, especially fly fishing, so I wouldn't even dream of posting a photo of that.

That photo was taken this past Saturday on the Current River, just outside of Van Buren, MO. A friend of mine and I were telling stories for a NPS Ozark Heritage weekend at Big Spring, a unit of Ozark Scenic National Riverways, and we also managed to get some time into fish.

Roaring River, about 60 miles south of me, near Cassville, is some good fishing, including fly fishing. You stand invited!

That is a beautiful photograph. You know what would help your fly fishing? A nice kilt!

I'm still a novice, too, but Diane has been fly fishing since she was 3 years old and has been teaching me well.

Thanks for the links. I'm thinking of getting a John Maclean book, now. Hmmm.
