Motel for the KC MO Highland Games
OK, I was going to rough it in my X-Terra, but no shower for three days would not be good , besides, I have roughed it enough in the army, and I need a place to change.
The Argosy Hotel is too expensive and I am unable to get more than one night, so its the Super 8 for me.

Go to Expedia and look at
Super 8 Motel - Kansas City/NW/Airport
$60 a night w/ $25 gas.
A little farther but a much better neighborhood.

OK I was thinking of another motel. This one isn't in a bad location other than being next to the train tracks. And it is right next to the park.

Huh? Nope. The one he's staying at is at the casino. The one you proposed is a mile from my house, gets robbed once a week, and is populated by crack heads and underage kids drinking and smoking pot. Not as bad as the Motel 6, but not much better.

Thanks for the info! I live in Gladstone and I wasn't aware about that motel. I'll not recomend it again. I first read the riverside address and thought it was over near RedX and as you can see by the second post I corrected myself.

Lyrd: Is the Super 8 Airport/NW the one off of Barry Road by McDonalds? Has crime gotten so bad in one year since I lived there?
When I was moving, I stayed at the other motel (the name escapes me) a couple of blocks South of Barry Road and I-29. I lived a few blocks further in from Barry Road on NW 79th St and considered it a safe neighborhood.
At that time, the hotel I stayed at was fine. It was $75 a night and had an indoor pool and free continental breakfast (not that great of a breakfast, but it would suffice).

Ya thats the one. It's not as bad as the motel 6 but not far behind. The one next to it your thinking of is the Quality Inn, and it has been robbed several times also. The ones on Ambassador are much better, though more expensive. Since zona rosa went in crime has gone way up. Go figure.

I guess I will have to take my Glock or S&W 357! Situational awareness is the most important thing, and I bet I have stayed in worse places.
