			Show me some MacDonald

I'm getting ready to order my first "tank," and I need some help. I'm pretty sure I want MacDonald, but I'm not sure which MacDonald. The Modern looks pretty good, but I think it's really busy and too bright. It doesn't have enough subtlety for me to coordinate well with it I think. I could be wrong though.
Anyway, if you guys/gals can show me some different MacDonald kilts, I would greatly appreciate it.

 Thank you!

Sure thing cousin. We gotta be some way related. I was conceived in Ft. Worth and Macdonald and MacMillan are my lines too.
Here are pics of the Macdonald tartans I have so far. There are more pics of them in my gallery and X Marks albums.

Macdonald Lord of the Isles Hunting, hand sewn by Kathy Lare. A beautiful tartan. 11 ounce Lochcarron. When I had it sewn up the material wasn't available in 16 ounce.

Macdonald of Kingsburgh, hand sewn by Kathy Lare. Kingsburgh is a town up on the Trotternish peninsula of Skye where my kin lived. This is a pre-Culloden tartan. 16 ounce Lochcarron strome.

Macdonald of the Isles Weathered Hunting. Hand sewn by Kathy Lare. This one is very very difficult to find pics of made up into a kilt. 16 ounce Lochcarron strome.

USA Kilts semi-traditional poly viscose in Macdonald tartan.

Sportkilt in Macdonald tartan polycotton. No pleats in back, just gathered, elastic waist, sized, not custom.

Hope that helps add to your collection for final decision making.

Wow, thanks Ron. I really like the Isles Hunting Weathered. That was one of the ones I was considering. I just don't know if it'll be dressy enough for the dressier occasions. (This will be my only tank for a while.) Do you have any of that one in a more formal setting?
I wasn't born here in Ft Worth, but we're probably related in some form or fashion (aren't we all?)

Thanks again for the great pictures!

That does look nice. Very subtle, yet bright enough to be refined. (In my eye of course.)
