The necktie was purchased last year from www.ties.com for eight bucks American. It's a silk blend if my memory is correct and makes a nice noose.
The jacket was my off-the-rack woolen Argyll. It was an early evening ceremony, so heat wasn't a consideration.
Besides, my drummie would've gone into an apoplectic fit if'n I worn a jacket that didn't match his.
Somewhat related....
This was a rather large hootenanny. The bride's parental units seemed to have well-stocked coffers. The interesting point is, the more ritzy the receptions are, the less likely we're asked to join in. Guests will often insist we remain, but they ain't paying for the reception.
It's the more modest affairs where those that hired us insist upon on us staying to indulge in the food & adult beverages.
We weren't asked to remain this past Saturday evening.
