I like all of the reasons for the wearing of the kilts.

But I especially like those about FREEDOM!

I wear the Kilt not as a Scot, but as a Highlander. Lets not forget the Kilt is the garb of the Highlander not the lowland Scot. 250 years ago the lowland Scot wouldnt have been seen dead in Tartan, now symbols of Highland culture are adopted by all Scots and Scots descended all over the world, not bad for a culture all but wiped out.

    Wear it well my friends.

I think what you are referring to is not too much of a focus on history as it is a lack of understanding it, or perhaps worse, a manipulation of it to suit one's own ends. Pride in who we are and where we came from should not be confused with belligerence, ethnic cleansing, or any form of hatred toward others who do not share our heritage. It is possible to praise one without insulting another.
