A sad day

I thank you all for your kind words. It is always hard when we lose a pack member. At heart she was a 75 lb lap dog. She truely loved the fields, forests, and water and would've been a great hunting dog if she'd not been gun shy. Of course we have no idea what she might have gone through in the 4-5 months before we found her. She'll be buried with our other two in the woods she loved up in KS. Once she is buried we'll head to Aggieville and drink to her memory and talk about our favorite Bonnie stories. Thanks for letting me vent.

Sir, I know how you feel, I am forty with no kids and a great German Shepherd and 75 pound Australian Heeler, they are my two boys. In 2000, I helped my ex-wife burry her mixed German shepherd / Rotty mix, that was a sad morning. I taught that dog how to smile and he brought me joy and happiness.

Having lost 3 dogs myself I can truly understand where you're coming from.

My honest condolences to you, your wife and those who knew Bonnie.

We both know she is now walking and running in the eternal prairies.

Terribly sorry. It's hard to lose a good dog. She sounds - and looks - like a fine beastie indeed.

It's always hard to lose a friend, whether they have 2 legs or 4.

I grew up with dogs, and remember when our 200 lb St. Bernard just couldn't continue. I still miss that dog, and it's been over 25 years.

I made sure that my sons have the same opportunity to get to know a dog. He's a mutt (half Dalmatian, half Black Lab) we adopted from the Humane Society as a puppy 9 years ago. Both my sons really like him, and mentioned how they missed the dog while we were on vacation.
