    Hello from Tucson, AZ

Thought I would join after referring to the site to learn more about kilts and using it to make my first purchase, which has been a complete success.

I was wondering if anyone has any experience with casual kilts from Heritage of Scotland. My mom was over in Edinburgh on vacation and bought me up a 8 yard (16 oz polyviscose) MacDonald tartan kilt for my birthday and it is lined with has three buckles. Very similar to the description given for the semi-traditional kilt from USA kilts, but again 16 oz vs 11 oz.

I had bought a Sport Kilt a few weeks prior and although it is a nice kilt I now refer to it as my emergency kilt, as compared to the Heritage of Scotland and as such I have just ordered three more from them. The amazing thing is that these kilts only run about $60 USD each with no tax and free shipping. Note if you order any put a note in the comments requesting the kilt(s) be 8 yards (if that is what you want) otherwise you may get a 5 yard kilt. The customer service was great, although they seem to have server issues from time to time.

The big question is has anyone else purchase from them? And if so what was your experience? With just two kilts to compare and none from the strongly recommended USA Kilts or Stillwater Kilts I just wanted to make sure I am not investing in a poor quality kilt.

BTW - I wore it to work for the first time today (I work for a big defense contractor - ie. conservative) and although I got some grief from some of the guys (nice skirt), the women really seemed to like it.

    William
