    Ashbourne Highland Gathering

    Hi
I'd just like to give a plug for the annual Ashbourne (UK) Highland Gathering next Sunday July 20th. It's a great event with kilts aplenty. In fact I think I'm right in saying that it's the only 'official' Highland Games event held in the UK outside Scotland. Ashbourne's a beautiful place in the Derbyshire Peak District and the scenery is very reminiscent of Lowland Scotland, and I'll be there in my kilt taking in the atmoshphere, so if any of you can make it look out for the big guy in the MacDonald of The Isles kilt!
If I take my camera I'll post some pictures on the forum. Here's a link to the event. http://www.ashbournegathering.com/index.htm.
The Kilt is my delight !

Unfortunately I can't make it but I hope you have a great time!

It came up in conversation at the Harpenden Highland Gathering today from which I have just returned and hope to get a couple of pics up before bed time!

I plan to be there Freddie, weather permitting.
I went last year too, but sadly it rained most of the day. Here's to better weather this year!

I have never been able to make it to Ashbourne for the Games . It is just that wee bit too far from the south coast without making a minor holiday of it and staying somewhere nearby - and it is always held the weekend after Harpenden!!

Wishing all who do make it there, a super day - and we want pics!.

    Take care,
    Ham.
