That looks like a great time. Makes me want to travel to attend one year.

Yes, I believe that a company or two were there.
The fort isn't on the same spot, due to flooding, etc. The recreation is pretty cool. I haven't been to any events there.

    It was water !

The young lass passing it around is a minor and fencers don't drink untill the day's duties are over and done.

Thank you all for the kind words !

    Robert - outstanding photos!

I have never really understood the re-enactment 'thing' - it presses none of my buttons - but I must say that in this case the re-enactors present an attractive and authentic-looking spectacle ......... although the Cardinal appears to be wearing very modern shoes!!

    Take care,
    Ham.

Looks like a fun event. The baby in the bucket pic is priceless.

Phil stole my comment. What a beautiful tableau.

I saw this thread on my iPhone just before heading out to lunch. I was reminded of it again, sort of, on my way home when I saw some young people in conquistador outfits learning (or practicing) how to fence. It was startling, because I have never seen anyone in this decrepit abandoned lot before, but having just seen your photos, for some reason seeing people in costume in a city setting was starting to seem rather ordinary.

    Thanks for posting them,
    Rex.

Great photos, thanks for sharing what looks like a very fun weekend with us. Your basket hilted sword looks like a very nice piece. BTW what is the sprig in your bonnet?
