    Scottish Tartans Museum on TV

Good news folks! Back in June the Scottish Tartans Museum was featured on the public tv show "North Carolina Weekend." It was a really great segment, and it aired right before our annual Taste of Scotland Festival, which was perfect timing.

NC Weekend is a show that is pretty much what you might imagine from the name. It features neat places to go and see within NC on a fun weekend trip.

Anyway, I meant to post a "heads-up" here on the board before hand for those of you who get UNCTV, our local public access. But I confess it slipped my mind until after it aired, and then I didn't post anything because it had already aired and why bother when you couldn't see it.

Well today someone came in the museum who heard about us from the show, and I had the idea to see if they were archived on line anywhere. And sure enough they are!

Here's a direct link to the show we appeared on. It's the second segment of the show, about 5:55 into it. You may recognize a face or two. :-)

It's about a five minute segment, and I think it is very well done. There are only a couple of mistakes the narrator made. One is they misidentified the Lochiel tartan as the Malcolm tartan, but that's forgiveable as the kilt in question belonged to a man named Malcolm. They also say there are "over 4000" recorded tartans. Technically that is true, but it's really over 7000 these days.

Other than those minor points, it was a very well done segment. Take a look!

    Matt

Way cool Matt. Makes me want to travel up to Franklin yet again...
