Very striking pleating pattern with the white stripe so close to the edge. I'll bet the swish on that one is really good.

    Looks very good!

Forgive me. I’ll have to look again. I thought that the Scott Modern (Brown) Hunting tartan in Tunes of Glory had the double vertical stripes in the hidden part of the pleats.

That looks fantastic. And, I must ask about that sporran. Any info on that? More pictures? Where did you get it? Etc?

I recall a thread here some time ago that pondered exactly which tartan was being worn in "Tunes of Glory." I don't remember what the decision was but I don't think it was Scott Modern (Brown) Hunting although I am certainly not the one to ask.

That said, although it is also my understanding that most military kilts are pleated to stripe, there again I can't claim any certainty.

For that matter, even though I just recently watched "Tunes of Glory" and can remember one particular scene of men marching, I couldn't say whether what I was seeing was pleating to stripe or not.

But in any case, right or wrong, I figured pleating to stripe would enhance the "swing" of the kilt...and "it don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing."

I think it looks very nice pleated to the double white stripe. The sporran looks sharp with it, as does the stick. Well put together outfit all around.

    DW,

I think your new kilt is very sharp looking. It was also a good buy at that price, especially considering the rush delivery.

What is the tartan of your next kilt?
