I might be able to swing up on Friday night for a bit. If not I will try to get up there on Sunday.

I may take my wife on Friday night since she's working all weekend. I'm also either planning on Saturday or Sunday w/ the rest of the family.

Dayton Celtic Festival
I just returned from the Dayton Celtic Fest. I was there last night and part of this afternoon. The bands make up the main attraction. There are vendor tents including Utilikilt and Got-Kilt. I enjoyed the music of Gaelic Storm, Scythian, Fater, Son and Friends, and dancing by Celtic Academy of Irish Dance. On Friday night there were several attendees in kilts. Almost all were Utilikit. Today there was a little more variation. I wore my kilt from Celtic Corners with a black BOTK T-shirt.
From the comments it appears the event is growing each year. The weather was a little hot but the rain stayed north at least while I was there. The event closes at 11pm tonight. Open Sunday from noon until 6pm.
See the web site www.unitedirishofdayton.org for a complete schedule of the bands.

Well, I did make it on Friday with my best pal. We caught about half of Gaelic Storm - really enjoyed the show. Yes, the black UK was everywhere. I saw not a handful of tartan kilts, not counting my own. Two years ago I was there in the heat of the day. I have to say I much preferred the nighttime experience this year.
Regards,
Rex.

Sounds wonderful, wish I was still in the area to attend it. Greetings to all.

If you are back in Cincinnati next summer the 2009 event will be the last weekend of July (24 - 26).

Mike,
It's just possible I might be in Cincinnati or Dayton during July of next year. Let's hope so.

At least we can plan a kilt night in Cincinnati while you are in town.
