I was just reading a thread in which a serving member of the armed services said that he was hesitant about posting a picture in kilted uniform. He was concerned about being flamed and he was flamed.

As I assume this was my thread, my concern was not what anyone would say here but if stuff appeared on other sites where the treatment of folk posting pictures of themselves in uniform is dealt with less kindly.

I know there is genuine interest here which is why I don't have an issue posting.

I have been noticing more and more negative posts there are some member that as soon as I see their Avatar I skip the post. 90% of the time these post will be very negatively stated.

It's a simple matter to add those members to your Ignore List and then you won't have to sort through threads so carefully.

Up in the NavBar, click on Quick Links
In the dropdown menu, click on User Control Panel
In the left pane, under Your Control Panel, scroll down to Settings & Options
Click on Edit Ignore List
Add the user/s you want to ignore and click on Okay

Nowhere in the Forum Rules, which are the guidelines by which all members of this forum are governed, does it say anyone is ever going to have the opportunity to have a go at anyone else.

It's when someone decides to have a go at someone else that we end up with the very problem this thread is about.

Hello Cajun: No intent in awakening old dogs but if I was going to reply accurately to Friday's comment then I would need to read the thread which inspired it. If you'd rather people not respond at all then that's ok by me. I understand.
