I agree, I'm a bit tall and can only get extra long and modify them to a kilt jacket.

I'm guessing by the photo background and your description that the seller was Bookster. He has an impeccable reputation.

Great jacket, too! I passed up a jacket and matching waistcoat dateable to 1941 in great condition a few months ago, and have been kicking myself for it ever since

It's beautiful. I hope it fits, though. I've found that jackets manufactured in the UK run smaller than their American counterparts.

I know. 42 is 42. But, all my business suits are 42 and I had to go to a 44 for both my Prince Charlie and my Argyll. I bought an alleged 42 PC online and ended up selling it to a guy who usually wears a 40.

I sincerely hope you do not run into this problem because that is a great jacket.

    Bob,

I normally wear a 40 (that's what all of my suits in my closet say, anyway), so if you're right, then I should be good to go! If it's not the right fit, then I'll see if a taylor can do anything with it. If that doesn't work, then I'll post it here at a cost only to recoup expenses and at the very least I'll have brought a kilt jacket over to the US for someone else who can use it.

    Nick,

It was Bookster. He is one of the nicest sellers I've ever had to deal with on eBay. If he'd start making kilt jackets, at the prices he's set for his suits, I'd dare say he could get a nice bit of business from the likes of XMTS members.

But, as nice as he is, I'll be danged if I couldn't get him to sell me that tie! He said it is too good a prop to let go. Oh, well. I tried!
