Ok I just want to repoint out to everyone that this thread is over 4 years old, and there is no poll to change the name. I was just looking back on old threads and found what i'd consider a interesting history lesson about our origins. I just thought I'd share.
Again there is no poll to change the name, so everyone doesn't have to place their vote.

Looks like you just beat me to it. I often wonder how these posts gain a new lease on life.

Reason: Doubled up on thread date alert.

LOL. I posted, then saw your post above mine and made a quick edit. You must have been watching the thread like a hawk cause I was quick to edit. LOL.
Yep, I was fooled... You got me. It was a good prank to bump a thread like this to see who was gonna read more than just the first few posts. LOL.

It's also interesting to see how many people don't bother to check the dates on the thread.

Sorry for that. I wasn't trying to "set up" anyone, I was just interested in the old thread.
I did however think there was a chance that people would just start responding to the intial line by Hank without reading through the post. My rule of thumb is to always at least read the 1st and at least the most recent post before I chime in. I typically read the entire thread however if there are >100 posts I'll usually read the first page, and the last page and that'll usually help me decide if I want to read the whole thing.
Again sorry about that. Wasn't trying to trap you.

Oh, I wasn't implying you were. I thought it was funny as hell after I posted. I read the first page, then part of the second and though "I really don't want to read 2 more pages of everyone saying "keep it the same". So I went ahead and put my two cents at the end. I just failed to realize that the jar that had been placed to put the pennies had been removed. ;)
Panache posted a thread in Off Topic that I am sure was inspired by this one.

Ah, we've all been victim of the "old thread revival".
As one of the people that voted on this 4 years ago, I just want to know who Ayin is calling "old timer". At 31 I don't hear that often

Colin,
Yeah, I've only heard that a couple times, when a buddy, 7 years younger than I, decided to call me "grandpa"... At least, you can still flip the numbers of your age and be younger than your actual age. In less than 4 months, I can kiss that goodbye, at least until I hit 40... Until then, I can be "23" if I so choose...

Please keep the X Marks the Scot name. It is both clever and helps to define what this forum is all about.

As pointed out, there is no poll, the thread is 4 years old, and it was decided long ago that the name is not going anywhere.
You guys can rest easy.
