These are usually sold as a lady's brooch. You might get comments accordingly so I wouldn't recommend it.

Sorry Phil, but grouse feet are fairly common as kilt pins, and there are more than a few members on here who sport them
To kilted kiwi, wear them well , but do a google search first to check on prices, as I;m not sure on how prices compare in our different lands.Have a look at some of the lovely antique ones, half way down the vintage kilt pin page, http://www.kiltgoodies.com/shopindex.htm

It's been a long time since I've actually seen them. They used to be quite popular in the souvenir shops many years ago, but definitely as ladies brooches. But who am I to say what anyone should wear? If you like it, wear it.

I have seen them as kilt pins and had one myself on my Isle of Skye for a time, however it broke apart after a year or so perhaps they aren't making them like they used to. I was talking to a chap at the Hector Russell here about it and he intimated that these pins, while handsome have the tendency to fall apart with time, again I believe the new crop must be fashioned in a different way then the vintage examples you still see for sale.

I think it looks really nice. I know that I would wear it.
I have always tempered my killing with respect for the game pursued. I see the animal not only as a target but as a living creature with more freedom than I will ever have. I take that life if I can, with regret as well as joy, and with the sure knowledge that nature's ways of fang and claw or exposure and starvation are a far crueler fate than I bestow. - Fred Bear

I own a pin very similar to that one. I wear it usually as part of a more formal outfit. The one thing that is unusual about that one (and mine) is that it is worn with the claws up so that the stag head is right. Grouse pins are traditionally worn claws down. The pin below is all metal and is worn in this fashion.

As to your question, I think it would be a great addition to your kilt pin collection.

Thanks for that link paul, looks like it is a reasonable bargin, the item itself is 55 years old so must be holding together okay.

They are a very traditional type of kilt pin. I like 'em! Here's an old one I picked up on ebay some time ago:
