Wow, Mike, what a wonderful picture, and a great story!

For those asking if these are for sale or not, and wondering how these may relate to the Royal Cuff hose we just made available at the museum, here is some basic info.

The Royal Cuff hose are, as indicated, sold attached to a sock. If anyone wants to order a pair from the museum with the cuffs un-attached, that can easily be done upon request. You still get the sock + hose, but they are not attached. Same cost, just another option.

The reason we are not offering just the cuffs themselves through the museum is because there is a very, very slim profit margin on this item, and all the profit the museum makes is basically in the sock, not the cuff.

That being said, if someone wants just the cuff part, with no hose, or wants something different than what is shown on the Royal Cuff page, my wife has agreed to entertain inquiries. Her email address is knittingpenguin@yahoo.com.

The ones pictures here, worn so wonderfully by Mike, are a "Q" pattern, and are made from a wool-blend yard (a lower quality yarn than the merino wool used in the Royal Cuffs). You'll have to talk to her about a price for your particular cuff, which I'm sure will be based upon the pattern you want and the quality of yarn.

Mike, I'm so very glad you are enjoying them. I thought of you right away when these became available. I thought, "hmmm.. who do I know with large calves, kilts that would look good with these colors, and is deserving of a nice surprise?" :-)
