Announcement concerning The Pub

As several of you have noticed our sister site, The Pub, has not been available for the last couple of days.

It was time to make a business decision concerning that site and the decision was made to shut it down. The explosive growth of this site has placed incredible demands on everyone's time and there just haven't been enough hours in the day to maintain and grow The Pub.

We're still looking at some options for members of The Pub community, but for the time being, no real decisions have been made.

I'm not sure if its mostly X Markers that frequent the forum? I've perused it from time to time. I'm not even sure if X Marks The Scot is connected to the site in any way??

How difficult would it be, to open a "conference" on this site (i.e. General Kilt Talk, The X Market, Off Topic, etc.). It could be opened up under one of our fine topics here.

That's too bad. I wasn't a very regular pub patron, but I did enjoy dropping in from time to time.

Why is it that every time I I find a pub I like, it closes?!?! The same thing happened with the ONLY Irish-style pub within an hour of where I live...
