Why is it that every time I I find a pub I like, it closes?!?! The same thing happened with the ONLY Irish-style pub within an hour of where I live...
lt is happening a lot over here, we have had two close in the last 6 mounths.

I'm just being curious here (and also admitting that I spent virtually no time at The Pub), but what were recent activity numbers like?
How many people were visiting in a day's time? Approximately how many new members were you seeing per day/per week/per month? How many new posts in a day's time?
If you prefer to answer in private, feel free to drop me a PM.

I think it makes sound sense to concentrate on the one site. One of the things which I find ironic is when I go to look at photos on a Show us your Pics thread and all I see is another link to the pub site. If the poster really wanted people to view his/her pics I would have thought it more logical to post them directly on xmarks, either on Show us your Pics, or in the case of non kilted pics in Off Topic. If I see a link to pics on the pub site I normally don't bother clicking on it but instead go directly on to the next xmarks thread.

That's a shame. I didn't get to visit much because, of fiscal necessity, I wasn't drinking much at all and didn't have much to discuss.
Maybe just a pub section to Xmarks?

The only reason l put my photos on the pub, was to try & get more people to look at the site, you never know, someone might have found something.
of interest to them, with in 5mins of putting the photos there we had 20 guests looking at them, pity you did not look you missed a good set of photos.
