CWKchic,
Welcome to the forum.
Most of the time I wear a polo-type shirt with my kilt.
Only a few accessories are needed with a traditional tartan kilt for casual wear, such as a sporran and a belt (about 2 inches wide and the same color as the sporran). I also prefer kilt hose, though some just wear regular socks.
Buzz Kidder sporrans are popular as they are relatively inexpensive and well made: http://www.buzzkidder.citymax.com/page/page/512029.htm
Most of the sponsors of this forum sell these sporrans.
Here is a very good deal on a brown leather day sporran and sporran belt from WPG: http://onlinemilitaria.net/shopdispl...2&cat=SPORRANS
Here is a good buy on a casual kilt belt:

For casual wear, I can recommend the inexpensive cotton hose from Sock Dreams: http://www.sockdreams.com/_shop/page...ductID_862.php
