The "Are you Scottish?" question always makes me laugh. I used to tend bar in an Irish pub and I had lots of customers come up and tell me they were Irish. I always said, "Wow, you don't have an accent at all! How long ago did you move to the states?" (Of course I knew they weren't from Ireland.) I wasn't trying to make fun of them, just point out that it's silly (in my opinion) to claim to be from a country you're generations removed from.

The point is, I have Scottish blood. Am I Scottish? No. I was born and raised in Wisconsin. I'm no more Scottish than I am any other nationality than American. But I do wear the kilt because it's the most comfortable thing I've ever worn.
