At the state fair thursday I got a big thumbs up from a crowd of goth kids, one of whom was kilted, though he was in a HotTopic kilt, but hey, it's a start, right.
There were several kilties in attendance. I had a chat with one guy on the midway (Carny) who had actually been keeping a count for the day. He had seen 12 prior to me, so I was the "thirteenth" kilt for the day. It was early, and things were kind of slow in the midway during the day. One fellow in the Buckskinners camp was wearing a kilt that I swear was brain tanned deerhide, but I could never catch him to ask for sure. One of the trade tents even had philabegs for sale in decent looking tartan like plaids (and some "real" tartans) for less than $50, and they weren't bad at all for the money. Better than the first one I got at Ren fair for $65 a couple of years ago.
Glad the new lady's son like your kilt Ron. It's all good !

What a good ending to a pleasant day, Ron.
Mind you, if any child of mine (yes, even at 20) used such language in front of his mother, he would have heard a lot worse from me!!
Take care,
Ham.
