    That's not a drummer's plaid but the Irish regiment piper's green cloak (cape). Its a special pattern (there are a few variations mainly in lining, lining colour or lack thereof) and held together at the front with what's called a "Tara Brooch" (all patterned after "The Tara brooch") and a pin with chain.

    Thanks Nanook, and i actually missed your reply on this question, sorry.

    You mentioned pleats sewn down in places,..which places?
    You mentioned "longish", but what shape, and exactly how long??
    Where exactly is the belt situated?, the middle?, the end? at a corner?
    I am trying to recreate one in miniature, and it needs to be an exact replica,...this is why i need a photograph.
    I mean,...if i tried to explain a Caubeen to you,..would you picture a Balmoral?
