I tend to march to the beat of my own drum when it comes to what I wear. I don't keep up with the latest fashions or have the misconception that if I don't look like a model on the cover of a fashion mag that there is something wrong with me. I'm not Miss America, never will be. I am quite happy being short, roundish and cute as a button.
With that said, I would wear a mini kilt if it was a skort. My own modesty kicks in. Its not about showing skin, its about not worrying if my hem is riding up a bit in the back. I make and wear corsets, I wear a lot of unusual clothes when I go to LARPs. Since I am usually working the athletics area when I go to highland games, a skort would work but a skirt would not.
So anyone know someone that can make me a skort?

Excellent! Be true to thyselves is still good advice.
The lass I married 50 years ago just bought a Kilted mini-skirt, and wears it with coloured tights, coordinating with the overcheck in the tartan. When she wore it to our "Wee dram" night, most of the other women remarked that they wished they "could wear something like that!" I have to add that she looked very good in it too! Maybe I'm just prejudiced?

BOLD text added by me for emphasis. What at least half of them totally miss is that they COULD wear something like that, but they're afraid to.
I'm not saying that EVERY woman should wear a mini-skirt. Absolutely, not every woman will look good in a short skirt. But this mentality of : I'm over 40 and not as thin as I was when I was eighteen, therefore I MUST A.) cut my hair to uber-short, and B.) wear long sleeved white blouses and nothing below the waist that is shorter than mid-calf............is crazy.
What's even CRAZIER is doing all that not because YOU want to, but because you're afraid of what someone ELSE will say.
And I will admit to a personal rant here..... ladies, if you go on and on and on about how hot it is at the Games and how you want something cool to wear, but then balk at anything that actually shows some skin, well. Uh..... **DOH**
OK, enough ranting on this topic.

I approve. Stylish doesn't have to mean immodest.

I REALLY like that look. And coordinating tartan. Quite a pair.
Now, I must bring up another issue about having a beautiful sexy lass wear some beautiful sexy clothes. I don't want my wife (who's quite a knockout) to wear something excessively sexy outside the home. I get too jealous of all the other men "checking it out." I like for her to look good but not as if she's "advertising." For the record, I only have objected once regarding a low cut (really low cut) dress--she altered it to keep me happy.

Alan,
My wife, Theresa, says this doen't pertain to her. She wears what she wants! I wear what I want and we are both ok with that.

Hum
Appx. 8 mos. of a particular medication = now schleping around 35-40 EXTRA pounds I did not have previously.....
Due to above, I now have CANKLES for pity's sake! (Just an example).
Nevermind that 99.99999% of the clothes I own that USED TO FIT no longer can even remotely be considered for wearing, and that would be IF I could get them "on" - much less zipped or laced or whatever.............
And it's not like I have any place to 'put' the medicine weight and puffiness and cellulite dimples that now grace me from shoulders, down my arms, legs..... I AM A SHORT PERSON **damnit** Can you say 5 ft. 1" at the most? AHhuh.
It's not just at and below the waist, folks...... I have freaking JOWELS. I have a freaking DOUBLE CHIN...... the tissue over my collar bone for pity's sake is puffy! I have fat freaking elbows for crying out loud! Even my pre-weight shoes don't fit!
I feel fit only for entry as a balloon in the the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade! ![Embarassed](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_redface.gif)
Guess what took a fast ride down the sewer pipes as my weight ballooned from ~115 llbs. to 145+? MY CONFIDENCE
So........ please mind not this tiny pigmy person who wanders about in greatly over-sized tee-shirts and baggy 'yoga pants' (which I also wear for jammies)..... 'tis just the way it's gonna be until I find a doctor who can deal w/the underlying medical issues and somebody, hopefully, the weight will reverse.
I mean, jeez...... I eat two serving of low fat cottage cheese and maybe a sourdough 'English' muffin A DAY. A-DAY.....PERIOD THE END. And each time I step on the scale.............. ![Rolling Eyes](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif)
