Based on the bird like head, teeth, and what looks like a rooster's comb on top of it, I'd say it's a cockatrice or possibly a basilisk.

I'm staying out of which mythological creature it might be! Still it is a most handsome and unusual buckle. Very nice.

So far we have a tie between a gryphon and a dragon with a few other creatures into the mix. The mystery continues....

    Anyway I ordered it.

Still think it might be a Jabberwocky monster.

Just joking glad you found something you like though. Hope it gets there soon.

I'm hoping everything gets here by the time the Stone Mountain Games begin in October. If not that's ok. There's always more dust-ups.

Gryphons have the body of a lion and the head of an eagle, which means it would have a beak. And it doesn't, so it isn't.

That's what I thought too. I did find a gryphon with a snout like this one but by far most were bird beaks with no teeth. This is partly why I think it's a dragon.

Who cares what they are--They aren't the typical Kilt belt buckle!

Only problem is if they fit on kilt belts!

Thanks for the tip on these.
