My God, it's a BEAUTIFUL thing!!!
::sniff sniff:: My new HAND SEWN Family Tartan by none other than:
Barbara Tewksbury
Kiltmaker
Deansboro, NY.
It has taken quite some time to save up for this Kilt. Not only do I have this 16oz masterpiece, but I also commissioned her to make 5 Ladies' sashes for my Family. The Wife and 3 daughters each get one (with one spare) and I made Kilt/Sash pins from Whitetail antler sheds.
Box pleats were requested as opposed to knife pleats.
The Ladies' sashes are 10oz wool. The difference in color is only slight, as the green has a bit of a lighter tinge to it but they match VERY well for being loomed differently and of different dye lots.
I love this Kilt and they love their sashes.
Onto the pics:

Nice kilt. The sashes for the ladies in your life was a nice idea. It adds a togetherness when the family goes to a function. I also like the sash pins.

That is very, very nice! Makes my jonesing for the kilt I have on order from Barb that much more difficult.
"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon
