Kilts to Kilimanjaro

These 20 guys are going to climb Kilimanjaro in kilts. Now that is real hombre territory.

Special kilts and polo shirts have been made for the team of 20 intrepid trekkers – who are calling themselves the Kilts to Kilimanjaro team.

I'll jump from a plane in a kilt but I will not climb a mountain.

This is excellent. I climbed Kilimanjaro back in 1998, and it was a blast. I would love to do so in a kilt . . . except up at the top, where the wind chill can reach -50 degrees. Might be a bit chilly.

Looks like a very interesting climb. I've never had the opportunity to try that one, and it looks like a worthwhile charity to be raising money for. I wish them luck.

Will they be climbing to the twin peaks of Mount Kilimanjaro?

My cousin's been up Kilimanjaro and McKinley. I like hiking, don't know about mountain climbing.

Can't believe I have missed this! Sounds like they departed today. A climb on Mt. Kilamanjaro is on my "bucket list." Doing it kilted, even more so! Reportedly no mountain climbing experience is needed, just be in reasonable shape to enjoy a slow, gradual ascent.

If they do this again in the future, I would love to take part. I'm so jealous.
