I quite happy with my Mr. Anthony (Bandspec). If I lived in your area, I'll probably look at their Canmore version.

A more local option for you would be to peruse the local Filson store. Filson made durable clothing for the miners in the Klondike; it's not cheap, but it will last you a lifetime.

For me, nothing beats my Barbour wax jacket for rain gear in Highland kit.

    Regards,

Spot on! I have one of their bags and after 5 years it looks like I have drug it through every pothole in Idaho. But not one single sign of wear. Expensive yes, but worth every penny. Their jackets seem to be of the same quality.

I always refer to Filson as the "American version of Barbour".

Matter of fact, A friend of mine and I are waxing our Barbour jackets this weekend whilst enjoying a pint and watching Hamish MacBeth. int:

Having read the first part of this thread last week I also went bought an Ultimate cape from Mr Anthony. It arrived a day later (I live in England) and it's great. The only problem is that now it has stopped raining!!!

Never mind, this is England, it'll soon start raining again
