weekend project
I tend to like the Rob Roy sporrans, I made myself one last year for the Ren Fest, and my wife one that was altered into a purse, and my little boy I believe has one for when he gets a little older. The one pictured I started Saturday evening, and finished Sunday night. It is made primarily out of soft deer hide with some heavier pieces where stiffness is needed. I braided goatskin lacing for the drawstrings. I also cut up a nice size 9 point rack for the button and string ends. I added a little bit of piping in the front, on the lid, and around the rim. I to increased the depth by about one inch, the gusset by about an inch. Enjoy!!!
