Boise Highland games and Octoberfest
I know, I know.... both in one day? How is that possible?
Well, we were scheduled to visit and perform at the Highland games and we also promised the manager of our favourite bar that we'd drop by afterwards for his Octoberfest celebrations.
A wonderful time was had by all and Diane even managed to keep me from breaking down when I saw some of the dreadful outfits at my first American Highland games.
That said, I never even got pictures of the heavy athletics because I was so busy all day!!!
So, to start, here are my lovely wife Diane, our friend Kevin and some of the other dancers from our group at our tent.
Diane, Kevin and the rest of the demo team put on a fantastic show.
Before Kevin and I enjoyed some smoked turkey leg.
And when we finished for the day we headed off to Octoberfest at The front door.
The manager sported his leiderhosen and got up on the bar.
Kevin and Diane enjoyed some Giant beers. (A litre for 6.50!)
The I got a nice picture with our favourite barmaid Michelle.
Before coming home to find this gem in one of the latest versions of Mental floss magazine.
A good time was had by all, even if I didn't get away long enough to meet any fellow xmarkers!

Boise Event
Out of curiosity, how many dancers in your Scottish Country Dance Group. Here in Toronto you can dance any weekday/evening with many groups. I belong to one with 33 members. For those sitting on the sidelines, it is wonderful exercise for the mind and legs.
Just bought some dance shoes and they sure are an improvement over running shoes.

it continually amazes me what some folks think is appropriate clothing for a Highland Games. I think the worst was Enumclaw. I can blaim it on the big city influence. Good Grief.
Hey!! November is coming. See you soon. Do I need to buy my dinner tickets now?

Diane is a rare lady; beautiful, talented, a SCD dancer, and a beer lover!*
Arlen, you are a very, very luck man
Cheers
