Williamsburg scottish festival
This was the first time I had convened the Clan MacCallum Malcolm Society tent at a Scottish festival. I had earlier received some excellent advice from fellow XMarkers.
My sister Denise and a family friend Lilly would help me man the tent.

I purchased from the Tartan Lady the Parade Banner and Tent Banner. It’s excellent quality and the Tartan Lady, Zellna Shaw is wonderful southern charmer to work with.
Our Clan had not been represented at Williamsburg for a long time. The Festival was glad to see us back. We are a clan of small numbers and I had been told by a number of conveners of the clan not to be disappointed if there were no fellow kinsmen to show up. I was resolved to that possibility.
As it turned out I had these three MacCallum lasses show up. They were very interested to learn about the Clan.

A little later, I had this couple with Malcolm ancestry to show and inquiry about the clan.

Another young lady had a list of Scottish surnames that she was trying to locate. We looked up each in the copy of Scots Kith & Kin that I had been advised to purchase. We also looked at the Clan map of Scotland identifying areas of affiliation.
The DNA flyers from Family Tree were of interest. I explained my DNA results and others of the Clan.

The sheep was very popular. About every third person passing by had to stop and rub him. Most inquired if he was for sale.

I placed a sign announcing the previously planned XMarks Meet Up.

We had an excellent turn out of the Ramble. Row kneeling left to right; djweso, Navy Guy, and The Kilted Wonder. Rear row standing left to right; Mael Coluim, Kilted Rebel, parker_db, Drill Agent, and Jerry.
A few action shots of the Rabble.

Denise was drafted by the Donnachaidhs to be part of the lassies team in the haggis toss. Robertson blood runs in our veins.

Lillie had her dog, Abie with her. A couple came seeing Abie went home and came back with their pair of dogs of the same breed.

It was a fast day. I was a lot of fun and very successful. I can’t wait to do it, again.

It was great to relax that evening and watch the concert. Here are two great acts.

During their act, other musicians were asked to join them. A member of Poisoned Dwarf is shown here. Members of Albanach played joined in too.
A REALLY GREAT SHOW!
