    New cromach

I picked up this simple cromach at the Ben Lomond Highland Games.

It is a hardwood staff that has been bent under steam. The was some machine sanding near the thin part of the crook (not sure why) that is a bit uneven and I don't think much of the stain. For $25 I still think it was a very good deal. 40 minutes of sanding and staining made it a whole lot nicer. When it is finished drying I will try to get another photo.

    Cheers

The stain had dried on my new cromach and it is waxed and ready to go.

    Puffer,

    (1) The kilt/tartan is a Stillwater wool Heavyweight kilt in a weathered variant of the Lamont tartan (it is half the sett). I got the last one in my size from the last run Jerry did of the tartan. I am pretty sure he isn't planning on bringing it back. A lot of X Markers have them so they do come up for sale from time to time in the "For Sale" forum. I love the earth tones, it is a subtle yet very handsome tartan.

    (2) I bought the cane at a TJ MAxx store for about $10. It was missing it's handle (hence the great deal) and I took it home and made a top for it out of an antler corona.

Both the kilt and cane are favorites of mine, thanks for noticing them .

    Cheers
