Kilts in England
Try going out for a meal in England with one on... you get some strange looks and if your out and about after dark well - lets just say your fair game for the odd heckle...
I like to think thier jealous - after all us Scots have kilts & the English have Morris Dancers... LOL! I know what I'd rather don for a night out - and it aint a pigs bladder on a stick or jingle bells on my ankles!

After reading all the replies I too think that the woman meant it as a compliment. A guy saying the same thing would probably be sarcasm. Also let's not get hung up on the word skirt viewed as feminine attire and kilt being masculine. A kilt after all is a kilted skirt.
