I have a few "safety pin" style kilt pins but mine are not covered in rhinestones.
I have always tempered my killing with respect for the game pursued. I see the animal not only as a target but as a living creature with more freedom than I will ever have. I take that life if I can, with regret as well as joy, and with the sure knowledge that nature's ways of fang and claw or exposure and starvation are a far crueler fate than I bestow. - Fred Bear

When I was in college in the Deep South in the very preppy early 1980's Kilted Skirts were the rage for all the women. This was the kilt pin they wore. (and yes, it was called a kilt pin) .

With the resurgence of certain "retro" fashions I'm not surprised to see these at $*#-mart.

I used to wear one with my textured knit ties around the same period. The pin corroded, and I'm not sure what happened to those particular ties, but I still have some skinny ones from back then.

And now Duran Duran is stuck in my head. Thanks, Dee.

    Rex.

Ah, the joy's of buying the current fashion, and then waiting until it becomes fashionable again.

Reminds me of a couple of horse-blanket pins that I have, minus the rhinestones of course. I suppose that those would make decent kilt pins, they certainly are heavy and sturdy enough.
