Super pics, looks like a great trip, with comprehensive coverage of all the sights.
I've also worn a black kilt out and about in York.

York is a great place to be kilted despite the dangers of being killed
I put some pictures up of my trip last year - remember Cliffords Tower very well as we stayed at the Hilton just across the road from it.

Great photos, thanks for posting!
I have a special fondness for trains & loved the locomotive you posted.
They don't make them like that anymore (unfortunately)!

A fine selection of photos, John - thank you for them. My memories of York are extremely scant although I have been there twice, on day outings when staying with friends in Wakefield, back in the 1960s/70s. One thing I do recall fairly clearly is the taking of afternoon tea at "Betty's"!!
Nowadays, whenever I am anywhere near York, I am on my way to or from Scotland and sadly have no time to make the detour.
I really am becoming far too sedentary and must get out more - before it's too late!!
Take care,
Ham.

Thank you Cynthia for your always kind words. Macman & Freelancer my sweater is an Aran which I bought in Kilkenny, Ireland last year. Sionnach - it's not me in the avatar. It's Tom who is 2nd from the right in the group photo. It's him wearing the "Jimmy" hat and ginger hair in the avatar. Boldhighlander, here's a couple more trains.

Thanks too for the rest of your replies folks.
