Can this be identified

I don't know much of anything about tartans such as what is and what is not. I do know I like this pattern. It is 12 to 13 oz wool. very high quality but very subdued. I like it.
Is it a tartan and does it have a name?

I am going to make it into a kilt whether or not. 3.66 yards 60 inch wide $1.75 at my local thrift store. I can't buy shop rags for that.

It's just a tweed, so it's not any particular tartan.

Tweed is a woderful material for kilts.

It rather looks as if it may be a variation on what used to be called Prince of Wales cheque.
