My hearing is such that I don't hear it go off if there is any ambient background noise such as a crowd. So I set it on vibrate, and use a clip-on carrier. I clip it on the under apron against me. I can now feel it go off. Since it is the same level as a belt, I assume that there is no real danger.

Cell Phone Karma,
A new take away fried chicken store opened recently in the neighborhood. My first and only visit I ordered from the menu and paid for the meal. I waited patiently as my meal was delivered to the pick up counter with my ticket number on it. I approached the counter and the staff took out his mobile and proceeded to make a call, converse, then hang up and finally hand me my meal with a grunt of acknowledgment. I thanked him for the first and last meal that I will ever purchase there, and walked out the door. I work the front counter at the hardware store a block down. When asked where to get food, I advise my customers of places that have good service and this place that doesn't. While on a break, walking in the square, the owner overheard my comment to a visitor, and asked me about it. I explained of the visit to his establishment. He was not pleased at my story, but then asked me to wait as he had to make a call. I left. The message didn't get through.
Slainte.

I'll still be careful, just in case.

But no, seriously. I wouldn't worry about it much either. But hey, maybe if you wrote an e-mail in to the Mythbusters they could do some cool blowy-uppy thing on an upcoming show for you...
And on a separate note, I almost hate to agree (because I've been guilty of it too) but I do highly dislike it when you're having a conversation with someone and mid-sentence they tell you to "hang on" as they answer their cellphone. It's bloody rude.
Even better is when it's not important and they spend the next 5 minutes chatting, laughing and carrying on. Then they hang up, look at you and say, "Anyway. You were saying..."
In a social situation I agree entirely, most irritating and I don't do it, but this was a work situation and an entirely different set of operating rules. If the mobile buzzes, we're not allowed to have them ring, then it needs to be looked at to see who is calling and answered if it is someone that falls under our responsibility. I our case if they're ringing directly instead of going via the helpdesk, it's urgent.
By the way, I didn't walk into that one, this is a G rated forum ![Smile](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

When I lost my job I lost my cell phone, too. I am in no hurry to replace the phone. I can't even take one into the building on my new job and the time spent driving is my quiet time. People can reach me the old fashioned way. Leave a message and I will call you back. The aluminum foil thing does not work anyway, I still hear the voices without lining my hats with foil.
