Got my first kilt today. Great-Kilt! (PICS)
There is SO MUCH fabric! I'm 5'8", 165lbs. Its a 5 yard great kilt. I don't really know what to dow ith all that tartan. What you see here is kind of winging it...

This from the back. The lighting is bad. The pleats seem to end up being well spaced loose bubble folds. This may have to do with the material (wool blend, that it feels thick and the old one didn't have crisp pleats even when I ironed it)
Or it could be because its my first attempt ever, and I had no one to help me. (came home in time to take a picture for me though)

I bought this to wear to Ren Fests, but got it in time for halloween to wear out that night.
Comments appreciated, and tips DEFINITELY welcome!

I'm certainly no expert and I've never actually worn a great kilt but to my eye you look like you did a pretty excellent job wrapping that one on. Guid oin ye!

Is it in poor form to start out with Step 11? ![Cool](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_cool.gif)

If you're going to swing that sword around, try not to get blood on your new kilt.

Great start! Looks to me like you did a good job pleating and wrapping. The latter is always the hard part for me -- I get all the pleats folded to my satisfaction, and then I lay down on them and pull the belt around me and over half the time have to start over. You've done a good job!
