Thanks Matt, and I will put a note in the first post about the mix up of terms. My apologies.
I am very happy with the quality of the hose. The ridge being a join at the cuff makes sense. I wanted to say that it felt like a seam of some sort, but I didn't know how all that worked. It is on the outside of the hose, so it is covered when the top is turned over, and would only be seen if the cuff is turned up.
